Non-conductive piping is the exception

Piping on the filling station is the only part in the delivery chain from "well-to-wheel" where non-conductive piping is ever used.

International and national regulations and recommendations already require that conductive or dissipating hoses are used on tanker trucks and dispensers. On refineries and depots there are no pipes or hoses used that are not electrostatically safe.

 

Increasing awareness already influences standards and regulations to take this matter into consideration for filling station piping as well.

If you are involved in the technical specification for fuel retail and still use non-conductive piping, consider switching to conductive piping for all new installations. You can also consult colleagues and in-house experts further "upstream" in your company.
